The .net Framework is required by all my programmes. In this FAQ I will give you a short overview of what the .net Framework is and why you should install it.
The .net Framework can be compared to the Java Virtual Machine. It is required to run programmes compiled for the framework. Therefore you cannot even start my programmes if the framework is missing.
Since the framework is from Microsoft it can be safely installed.
The Framework can be downloaded here![]()
I use the .net Framework because it already has a lot of functions ready for use out of the box. Without the framework I would not be able to provide you with software for free.
topThere are different versions of the .net Framework. The required version is indicated on the programme’s page in the System Requirements section.
If the version you have is below the indicated version the programmes will probably not run on your computer. If you have a higher version it should be compatible with the programme.
You may install as many .net Framework versions as you wish on your system. If you install a newer version the older one will not be removed. This ensures that all programmes you have will continue working.
You have the following .net Versions installed on your computer:
- 0.0The .net Framework can be installed on the following Windows Systems:
Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP.
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 requires Service Pack 6a.
The .net Framework will be included in all future windows versions.
There is a
Linux implementation
as well, but it is incomplete. You will not be able to run my programmes on Linux at this time.
Installation as quite simple: After downloading the software you simply double-click the downloaded executable and follow the instructions. Administrator rights are required for installation. The installation takes 50 MB of your Hard Disk.
If you have the IIS installed, the ASP.net extensions are installed automatically.
The .net Framework deeply integrated itself into your system. Uninstallation, however, is always possible.
