The second article on Civ2:
Well, As you may of have noticed, I have quit playing for awhile. Yet I have increased my score to 932% by the year 1976! I think I may only be trying to beat my old score on this. I don't think that this game presents much of a challenge to people anymore with the new games out there. The game has its methods. There are certain gimmocks that need to be done in order to properly beat the game as I have done. I wish there was more to the game, nevertheless it is very fun to play, even still. Maybe one day I will try to make a game as good. Who knows, I am a Computer Science Major.(Feb22,2001)

The first article on Civ2:
I only play this game ever on Diety level, and I like the world to have more land than water. Expansion: I also hate deserts, they are Useless, and rocky terrain is unbearable during the beginning of the game. Why should you use any terrain but grassland? Besides trying to get off to an early start, it is important to deny the enemy (read, all other civilizations) as much useful land as you can.
Conquest: I don't like to destroy the enemy right away, but instead give them time to build up. That means they will build a bunch of cities without me having to.
Expansion: The best way to play is to set up, without those useless fotresses, a successful group of cities aimed towards generating a high popultaion with the least amount of revolt as possible. This is good for generating revenue and for creating settlers. Also, later in the game this is the core of the cities that build the armored wing of the military invasion force to knock out the enemy.
Conclusion: I have played the game on the diety level and retired, without winning yet!, with a score of 559 and a percent of 635%! When I get the spaceship I will gain considerably more points, but I have been busy latly and have not yet been around to do so. (Dec11,2000)
