Kite's Weekly Review

First I'd like to apologize on the lateness of my reviews. It's not my fault though. It kinda has to go through a middleman before it's put up. That usually takes a while. So, I apologize for the delays. To make up, I'm doing a special review (Ok, I promised 3D I would in return for some art for a future character ^_^;), so enjoy.
At a Glance

As always,"At a Glance" is just a basic skim of the character, nothing more.

Name: Hans Justice
Creator: Son of Light
Kit: None
Team: Sentinels of Liberty and Justice
Sex: Male
Strength: Weak
Agility: Standard
Body: Weak
Mind: Weak

Martial Arts: Standard
Martial Supremacy: Supreme
Spellcraft: Ultimate
Thrusting Attack: Ultimate
Tractor Beam: Standard

From these powers, you can surmise that Hans isn't much of an attacker. Infact, anyone who can get close to him will surely take him out quickly. He has a great attack, but no defense. Also, there's no strength to back up his other powers. The stats seem to just be an excuse to gain points. It wouldn't be hard for someone to beat him if they could get off just one attack. With his martial arts and thrusting attack, he SHOULD be a powerhouse, but with those stats, he just isn't going to cut it.

For a great attack, but no defense and nothing to back it up 5/10

The Character

This really makes no sense. A group of gods decide to give THE ULTIMATE WEAPON to some random kid off the street. These Gods I speak of come from every religion that I've heard of, and a few I've never heard of, and some that sound made up. I really can't say much for his writing style, and half of his bio is just a list of gods, and is rather boring. This character has no hook, which would save it if it had it, but it doesn't It reminds me of the type of hero I'd write back in 7th grade.

For a completely lackluster writing style 4/10

The Powers

Celestial Swordplay
Martial Arts - Standard - Easy to Lose Item

Hans was given this sword with no prior knowledge on it's use, but was given an instruction manual. This could have been humerous, if it had been written that way, but comes off dry. As to further mock Hans, the book is written in every language BUT English. Translator, please?

The Eternal Nine Heavens
Martial Supremacy - Supreme - Easy to Lose Item

Ok, as far as I know, Martial Supremacy never gave ANYONE the ability to avoid attacks. So basically, this power is worthless. It's saying that he can avoid attack using it by putting it in the way of attack but...that just doesn't work.

The 9 Celestial Attacks
Spellcraft - Ultimate - Easy to Lose Item

Another list of his powers. All of it reeks of pointless and useless filler so it wouldn't be smacked for being short. All the fun of Genisis (The Bible) wrapped up in one character sheet.

United Planets
Thrusting Attack - Ultimate - Multi-Attack - Easy to Lose Item - One use

I think I've seen an RPG boss use this type of attack...basically, it combines every attack he has into one giant uber mega destructo super attack. For 10 points, he could have added Seeker to this, and would have been able to completely inihilate anyone in one hit. But, you have the change to dodge it if you're super fast. It all depends, really. If you're a slow-unagile thing, you're toast. If you can teleport or have super speed, you're good to go.

Sword and Man as One
Tractor Beam - Standard - Ranged - One Use

He drops his sword once per battle, the sword comes back. So, basically, knock the sword out of his hand twice and Hans is toast. Seems rather simple to me really.

The powers give Hans no (logical) defense, and his attacks are avoidable, especially if you get rid of the sword. So really, anyone could take him if they planned ahead a little. This had the posibility to be an interesting character, but poor writing and poor follow-through made this just another character. 2/10

Overall

There really isn't much else to say. I guess you can chalk it all up to this being a first attempt at writing a character, and hope he comes back better. Obviously, the will, and the thought is there. It just needs a better follow through. Keep working on it, and you'll make a good character at some point. Many creators have started off with total crap and have created great, memorable characters. I consider myself an example.

Overall: 3/10

At a Glance

As always,"At a Glance" is just a basic skim of the character, nothing more.

Name: Ragé Dark-Horse
Creator: ThreeDark
Kit: Sorcerer
Team: Solo Hero
Sex: Male
Strength: Weak
Agility: Standard
Body: Weak
Mind: Superior

Tactician - Superior
Environmental Awareness - Standard
Animal Transformation - Supreme
Super Speed - Superior
Eldrich Blast - Supreme
Teleportation - Supreme

From the powers and stats listed, he's obviously a brillaint man. With super speed and teleportation, there's no need for defense - can't hit what you can't catch. Toss in a supreme Eldrich Blast and you got quite a long-range powerhouse of a character. Solid stats are the groundwork of a solid character. Though, I wonder what the point of Animal Tranformation is...I'll find out soon enough I suppose.

For interesting powers with obviously alot of thought put into them, 8/10

The Character

Take your average, ordinary, every day computer geek. The one who always thinks before he acts. The one who's really brillaint, but seriously weak. Now, give him nifty powers. That is rage (my apologizes, but I have no mouse and I use my num-pad as one. So no funny accent dealies.). His best power may be the ability to instill fear into others who don't know him. People avoid what they believe is strong, even if it isn't. It's rather well writtin, even for ThreeDark.

For an awesome writing style 9/10

The Powers

Think > Act
Tactician - Superior - Kit: Sorcerer

Obviously, he thinks before he attacks. No duh, right? Nothing truly special about this power.

Dual Site
Environmental Awareness - Standard

Ok, so yeah...he knows what's going on around him. He has good senses I guess. That's a good aid in battle. Knowing where things are can always help. It's like having your field of vision increase to 360, I imagine.

Kings Crown
Animal Tranformation - Supreme

So, here's the real source of his power. He can turn into another animal, thus amplifying his stats for his body, so long as he's wearing his mask.

Justicars Cloak
Super Speed - Superior

Yeah, he's fast...really, not much to say about these powers, they're all rather basic, and nothing's truly linked so far...not necisarily a bad thing though.

Mage's Fist
Eldrich Blast - Supreme - :Kit: Sorcerer - Seeker - Ranged

There's your finishing move. Quite a nifty attack. It just...kills. Burned to death in a blue-white flame. It's impossible to avoid, since it's a seeker attack, and it's ranged, so it'll just keep coming at you. Great finishing move.

Wanderer's Privilege
Teleportation - Supreme

Basically the world melts - in a way - for him and comes back, giving him teleportation. This is possibily the best description job I've ever seen for teleportation, making it more of a process and less of just an instant thing. Rather nifty

The powers are just awesome. Truly Rage is a powerhouse. It's the attack that keeps on giving. No combos, but they're not really NEEDED for Rage. It's just perfect as it is. 9/10

Overall

You can tell when I think a character is good because I really have nothing to say about it. Rage is just that. A great character. I honestly can't think of anything to say about it, so I'll just say it rocks and I'll be on my way.

Overall: 9/10
