Kite's Weekly ReviewAt a GlanceAs always,"At a Glance" is just a basic skim of the character, nothing more. Name: Biohazard Body Armor - Ultimate Seems rather cut and dry here. There's a guy in a suit that's nigh impossible to penetrate, with up-close and far away powers that eat away at the flesh. I can't detect any power combos here, but, that's the point of At a Glance, a chance to view what it LOOKS LIKE, versus what it is. Anyone who can cut through the suit will get a rather quick win. Diable his powers, you get a quick win. Not alot of support here. For a basic character without a whole lot of individuality or appearent use of power, but a strong defense, depending upon how the suit holds up, I give him a 6/10 The CharacterA slight twist. Dr. Frank Steign *ugh* creates an ultimate weapon or something in what sounds like the same character all over again. Problem is, he didn't quite retool this one right. It still thinks and acts and...is human. So, eh, Doc's out a monster, and a whole lotta funding. While a nifty cencept, the delivery feels flawed. It doesn't quite grab you with the twist as it should. A character based on a hook like this needs to really grab you at some point, and for me, it didn't. For a great concept, but overall bland writing, I'm giving this one a 5/10 The PowersLevel 10 HAZMAT Suit Again, I'm going to say that this is a great concept, but not so well delivered. Though, this section doesn't deal with writing, it needs emphasis. Biohazard's suit is your standard "nothing gets it nothing gets out" contraption. You get the idea. Considering this is an ultimate power, that's pretty much true. Anyone got a can opener? Let Me Remove This Helmet Ok, you don't have to be close to him for it to happen. You can be anywhere in the general vicinity, and you've got the virus. It's a nasty one too. Causes vomiting almost instantaneously, loss of bodily function, high fevers, etc....even without the next power, this would surely cause a figher major discomfort in mid battle. It's Also Flesh Eating If this character were a joke, this would be the punchline. Way to kill your friends, man. Course, he doesn't seem to care. He wants money. What a greedy character you got her, Namic. So, he becomes evil to make money? Pheh. Anyway, this causes the flesh to rip from the body. Alien DNA usually does this sort of thing. For a very basic set of powers, that are pretty efectual in combat, but easily avoidable if you're a robot/took some form of imunity/Don't let him take his helmet off - which, really, takes away the point of the ultimate body armor, cause he hsa to become an easy head shot to use his powers, I give him a 5/10 OverallI've said it time and time again in this review. It's a great concept. It mocks the classic "Frankenstein's Monster" routine well. But, it just wasn't executed as well as it could have been. There's no feeling for any of these characters, they just...are. A little more time spent tweaking this character, and it could have even made the elims, but I'm going to wager this goes 3-3. Overall: 5/10 |
