Rank: Peace Keeper Topic: Heisen Reason: Shameless Plug And An Attempt To Get Landon To Work As many of you probably know, last year, sometime around spring, the FPL was shut down due to serge being rather upset (and IMO rightly so). From this, was born a chaos of many faithful followers of the FPL to find a new game. Many were the valiant attempts to create a new game. My own bid in this, Heisen. The concept of Heisen was a simple one. One world. One landmass. Many nations. Peace Through War. From this basic idea came the ideas for the system of Heisen, which rappidly became much more than the FPL. While the FPL is great in many ways, the new system sought to be more, to be more focused in ways, and to cut out other parts that did not fit. Heisen is very IC based (see later in this plug), and as thus, the anything-goes feel of the FPL does not work. While this may seem to hinder creativity, it does so no more than your average Table Top RPG (see later in this plug as well). Heisen was to be much more complex than the FPL. For, there would be a total of 9 nations (eg affiliations), and within each nation, several factions (eg teams). Nations would have a power (or "Technique") that they would get automaticaly, and factions would have powers that were unique to that faction alone. The reason? Because, not all are the same. Sanguine: A nation of dark magic, brooding monsters and horrible tyranny. Ivoire: A nation of disbelievers, of science. Logical, those around science have more access to such. Those around dark magics, again, have more of such. Alas, Heisen died. Serge brought the FPL back online. The friend who I had gotten to program it went to MIT (Landon was SlacKing again, took too long). And we, well, lost interest. It was to be rebuilt though. I, from the very clutches of the evil, vile creature, the King of Slack (no offence Landon), stole forth (had him send) the files on he had collected on the entire system. From here I began work again. I had Landon refine the rules (so he went and rebuilt them). We refined the IC capabilities... Okay I'll cut to the point, and stop with the history. Heisen is a world in which, by some unknown force has brought all the landmasses together into a super continent. Each nation, once able to operate without too much trouble from eachother (large distances between them, had safe borders et cetera), was now struck by the overwhelming urge that is bred deep with in every human (and sometimes demons, monsters, little midget's that believe only in balance) to bring forth their views (motives, designs, destructions) on the rest of the world. All sought Peace. All sought War. The end result? A war to pale the war to end all wars. Greed and arrogance to make Hitler seem like a saint (I do not endorce Hitler as a saint in anyway shape or form. He was a very very bad man and should rot in Hell Fire... or Spellhold). Heisen will be. Heisen will be the game originaly concieved. Much like the FPL. Different. The FPL is a great game, and I doubt I'll ever leave it for too long, for I love the forum it provides for creative outlet. Heisen will also be (before it is game) a set of Table Top rules and IC setups (publishing to be sought later). Okay, the whole bloody point of this? None really, other than *takes a deep breath* |
