Scheme Details This comprehensive Coaching Programme is designed to teach cricket in an exciting and challenging way. The courses are especially beneficial to young players playing in school and club teams. They provide an ideal opportunity to develop and improve skills. Foundation Level Courses organised throughout the year for boys and girls, introducing the basic skills of the game, with emphasis on fun and enjoyment. Participation Level General improvement/participation courses throughout Easter and Summer school holiday periods and Indoor Autumn nets prior to Christmas, aimed at improving team events. Summer Cricket Weeks These courses organised for young persons, 7-15 years of age, are based at selected cricket clubs throughout the Cheshire Cricket region for all abilities full coaching days include group coaching, net practice, fun competitions, trophies, and six-a-side games. A week not to be missed. Advanced Level Courses These Courses offer an opportunity to those young cricketers who have already achieved a high performance standard to progress to excellence. Applicants must be recommended by a club coach or teacher as having achieved the required standard as specified below. Selected Criteria - Advanced Courses The principle criteria for selection are: 1. "A significant cricket contribution at school or club" 2. A recommendation by an Area Cricket Coaching Co-ordinator/Senior Course Tutor for the Cheshire Cricket Developement Scheme. 3. Players who have represented the County Youth Teams during the previous season. Excellence Level Course A ten week cricket coaching course will be offered to selected participants at under 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 age groups. |
