NOT MUCH GOING ON UP THE ARRAS.
With promises of capacity crowds, Lipstick Torpedo took to the stage of the Arras Club in Enfield on June 7th. Whilst a fair few braved the muggy summer weather to check us out, lots more stayed away in droves. I have to say, it was a disappointing turnout, especially by the members of the Arras Club themselves.
Of the people that did put themselves out, it was nice to see the proprieters of Enfield's very own goth emporium The Crimson Crypt tapping their stack heeled feet at the bar and also members of The Doggs Bollocks Motorcycle Club whose summer rally we will be playing in September. Thanks to all of you and hope to see you again in the near future.
Talking of the near future, there has been a bit of movement on the dates page due to double bookings and cancellations but we now have a fixed schedule for June and july. On June 14th we will be playing at Biggleswade Conservative Club......this lovely little club is not nearly as stuck up as it sounds and every time we play there both ourselves and the crowd have a thoroughly good time. It is a private club but drop us an email and we will try and sneak you in if you want to come along !
June 21st finds us at the Midsummer Music Festival at Offord Darcy, Cambridgeshire. A departure for us, this is a popular local festival and in support of several good causes, Lipstick Torpedo therefore, being the altruistic souls that we are, have offered our services completely free of charge.
Have a look at the festival web site here Midsummer Music Festival
June 28th has a change of venue. Mrs Galaxy's birthday was originally going to be celebrated at the Beehive in Edmonton, London, N9 but due to circumstances beyond everybody's control we were not able to be accommodated this time, thus we withdrew from this particular venue and re-booked the whole thing at The Wheatsheaf in Baker Street, Enfield (for those of you who used to come to our gigs at the Old Bell, it's the next pub along the same road). We have never played at this venue before so please come along, wish Mrs Galaxy a very happy birthday and jump up and down to your favourite '70s tribute band. We have been promised future dates at The Beehive so panic not residents of Edmonton....we will be back !!
Alan Galaxy, ever the one to embrace technology and "get down with the kids" has now got himself a Facebook page which can be accessed here
: Galaxy's Facebook. If you haven't already done so, sign up to Facebook and make
Alan Galaxy your friend....God knows he needs friends!! His page incorporates a group called 'The Lipstick Torpedo Friends Repository' which you can join and be kept
up to date with all the latest goings on at Torpedo Towers.
Oh, I nearly forgot, the setlist page has now been updated so if you are contemplating coming to see us for
the first time and don't really know what to expect, this is a good place to start finding out what we are about.
WE NOW HAVE A TELEPHONE / TEXT NUMBER THAT YOU CAN CONTACT US ON IF YOU WANT TO SEND A TEXT OR LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE FOR BOOKINGS OR REQUESTS YOU CAN DO IT ON 07784 171676.
BY THE WAY....WE HAVE A NEW GUEST BOOK AT LONG LAST. CLICK ON THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND LEAVE US SOME ABUSE !!
