I went to Fuji Photo Day a couple of years ago. I was on my dad's shoulders trying to see everybody who went by, then J.D. came by and I couldnt get down in time to get a pic with him. I was so nervous, I yelled his name and waved, he smiled and waved back, I honestly think I was shaking so bad I would have knocked my dad over, and he's not a small man! I regret not getting down, I just wish I could meet J.D.

I'm from Milwaukee, so I usually only get to see JD a couple times a year and I really wanted his autograph. My dad gave me the idea of holding up a sign that said 'JD Drew can I please have your autograph?' These fans by the dugout told me that I would never get JD because he never signs, but I wasn't going to listen to them. The first year, he came and signed my baseball. The next year, I had a Cardinals program and he sent Edguardo Perez over to get it. He personalized it to Melissa. I yelled 'thank you' and he waved and smiled. I proved those guys wrong and JD is really nice!

I went to Photo Day on June 29 2002. Well I was wearing my signed Drew jersey and as JD was walking by I yelled "JD" and he looked right at me and I turned around to show him my jersey, then he said "Look at mine", and he turned around and showed me his. The only thing I regret about this experience is not getting a picture with him. But he was very fan friendly on this day!!:-)

I was in St.Louis at Mike Shannon's resteraunt and he walked through the door. I nearly passed out! I ran over to him and stumbled on my words but fianlly got out "I'm your #1 fan!" and "You are so hot!" He smiled and said "Thanks a lot. So I take it you like basball" and then laughed! I wanted to kiss him so bad!

My name is Joe Miller, my son Joe played for the St.Paul Saints in Minnesota from 1995 to 1998. He and Ben Utting were roomates of J.D. Drew. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the apartment and it was only for a few days as J.D. was about to be signed.

In the afternoon of July 2-3 ?? he got the call and was scheduled to play that night. His name was on the scorecard and only certain people knew he was leaving that evening. I had volenteered to drive him to the airport in Minneapolis.

Well at game time, his name was removed from the roster, and my son, Joe, was replaced as the DH. and at around 7:30 we left for the airport, and were conversing about his family and such and talking about the St. Louis Cardinals and how long it would take him to get to the big show, as he was going to Witchita, KS.

It was raining very hard on the way and you could see that he was anxious to get to where he was going and we talked about how the fans would react and so forth and he came across as knowing that the fans are the main reason for him to play ball and to respect them.

I can only say that in my opinion he will go a long way.

By some twist of fate I flew into the St.Louis airport when I usually go to the Memphis one. Anyway, I was there and my mom said that guy there looks like JD drew. I was like uh no. Why would he be here?? Then he spoke and I was like Yep, that is him. I grabbed my shirt out of my bag and ran over there to him and said hi. He signed my shirt and he kind a chit chatted with me like asking me where I was from and stuff and that. Then we shook hands and I was walking away and he said HEY, you forgot your shirt. So I got him to smile at me again and then I left. So all and all it was great. He gave me a great impression and was super super nice.
