Rick Ankiel~ He was very nice, not shy at all! Andy Benes~ I met him, but I don't remember what he was like. Alan Benes~ He was nice. J.D. Drew~ He's a nice guy! ****I wouldn't have believed it had I not saw it myself. JD signed for the ENTIRE wall down in Jupiter. I was quite impressed. (He also told me happy birthday at the 2002 photo day:) Jim Edmonds~ Very nice and polite. ****(Januaury 21, 2002)After making my way to the front of the line to where the bar was I stood there a while hoping this big guy in a blue shirt would move. After a few mintues some one hollered "Jim" and Edmonds looked up and people took some pictures of him but the guy in the blue shirt was still in my way. A few minutes later the two girls beside me said they had a banner for Edmonds and I helped them hold it up. Then we were trying to find dome one to holler Jim. When the blue guy moved way out of my way I hollered "Jim" and he looked up at me, smiled, and started waving. After I had taken my picture I said "thank you" and he said "your welcome" back:-) ****Last year at Photo Day (2000) I ended up getting in the first row. There was a retarded girl behind me so I turned so she could get in the front row beside me. When Edmonds was walking by the girl asked him to come closer. He bent down to more her height and got closer. She asked him to come closer so he took another step foward. Now after the 3rd or 4th time of moving foward when the girl asked him to move closer again and he said "I would, but then I'd end up breaking your camera!" Then he looked at me and smiled:-) Dustin Hermanson~ Both times I've met him he's a had a big smile on his face! Mike James~ He was nice, not to shy either! Darryl Kile~ I don't remember what he was like when I met him. He was really nice at Photo Day though! Steve Kline~ He's gotta be one of my favorites. I've never met anyone that has complained about meeting Kline. Very nice guy. Easy to get along with. ****(March 25, 2002)I was sitting not too far away from the Cardinals dugout and in between innings Kline kept walking by. This kid sitting two seats down from me watned his autograph. Kline grabbed the ball and stuck it in his pocket and went back into the dugout. The next inning he came back out with a cup of gatorade and offered it to the kid but the kid said he didn't want it so Kline gave it to te kid beside me. After messing around with him a little more Kline finally gave the kid back his ball. Tino Martinez~ He was very sweet when I met him. ****(March 27, 2002)Before the Cardinals/Mets game in Port St. Lucie there was a Yankees fan in the bleachers of Thomas J. White Stadium trying to get Tino to go over there by yelling and holding up her sign. Afer ino was done taking batting practice he started going down the line to sign autographs. I was at the very end of the bar right before a big break in the seats. Tino took my baseball and signed it. Since he had just taken batting practice he was sweaty. The pen wouldn't show up all the way on the ball and he was like "Sorry about that." I said "That's okay, thank you." You would've expected him to walk away, but he didn't so I had a few moments of odd silence. When he finally walked away (not like I wanted to get rid of him or anything) he went over to where the lady that was calling for him was and signed her picture. Mike Matheny~ He's another one of my favorites. He's also very nice and easy to talk to. ****At the 2000 Warmups I was waiting for Drew to come out and he was sitting in a chair behind a table waiting for people to come and get his autograph. I talked to him for 30-45 minutes. Mike Matthews~ He was pretty quiet. He was very nive though:-) Matt Morris~ Very friendly guy! WARNING: If you have a camera, he will pose! (and if you have a slow camera he'll crack a joke:) Mark Mulder~ He is so hot! I met him once at Winter Wamrups ('05) and again at an autograph signing he did at Toys'R'Us. ****(April 21, 2005)I met him tonight at the Toys 'R' Us autograph signing, and I adore him even more than I aready did. I got there around 5:35 and was probably about the 10-20th person in line (I'm bad at guesstimations). Mulder was a little late, maybe like 10 minutes (he was supposed to be there at 6:30). The Toys 'R' Us people told us we could only get 1 ball or photo autographed like it said on our ticket, no big deal, but this plays into my story a little later. Anyway, I was next in line and the guy from Toys 'R' Us that was taking the autograph tickets saw my camera and was like, "Do you want your picture taken with him?" I told him yes and he was like, "If you give your camera to that guy he'll take it for you. You can lean down over the table as long as you don't go behind the table." He was very nice when explaining all of this to me (unlike alot of people at Warmups, etc. usually are). So I get up to Mulder and after he signed my baseball and I got my picture taken with him I asked him if I could have one of the 8x10 photos that was by him (they were giving them to people to get signed if they didn't have something for them to sign...I just wanted one). Anyway, he was like "Sure." He took one of the 8x10's and autographed it before handing it to me. I was so happy! He's adorable! Oh yeah, I got a couple of pictures but they aren't on my digital because that broke (which is why my Spring Training pictures aren't up). Craig Paquette~ Met him, but I don't remember it. Albert Pujols~ Should I even go there Jess and Jen?...LoL I'm not gonna comment on him, but if he wants to keep fans he better get his act together! ****(January 21, 2002)Today at Winter Warmups I was front row behind the bar. Mr. Pujols came out smiling and waving at fans. He sat down and after a few minutes the first guy with an autograph ticket went up to him with a bat. Pujols said something about how he had called a month ago saying he was only goingt to sign flat items. He "discussed" this with one of the guys that was in charge of warmups and after a few minutes of "discussing" Albert stood up and got his phone out to call his agent. Then they went in the back behind the curtain. When Albert came back out he looked ticked. He went ahead and signed bats, balls, etc. Edgar Renteria~ He was quiet. That's all I remember. Kerry Robinson~ Very nice and friendly. ****(January 19, 2002)I got Kerry's autograph at Warmups 2002 and I had a camera in my hand and he was like "You wanna take a picture of me or do you to get a picture of me and you" and I was like "uumm...." and then he was like "If you hand the camera to that lady I'm sure she'll take the picture for you" and I was like "ok" (sorry for the lack of punctuation) Scott Rolen~ Wow. He signs *alot* of autographs. He signed before lunch down in Jupiter and after lunch for quite a few fans each time. Bud Smith~ He was a sweetie! Gene Stechschulte~ He's really nice, I wish my camera would've worked properly! (will be explained later) Jeff Suppan~ What a nice guy. Hopefully I'll put the story up soon. So Taguchi~ (January 21, 2002)Nice guy. Understands "thank you" and uses "your welcome." Mike Timlin~ I have pictures that say I met him, but I don't remember it. Dave Veres~ He was really nice:-) Fernano Vina~ After I finally got to meet him he was pretty nice. Woody Williams~ He was nice. ****I have this camera and it takes a few seconds to take the picture and I ended up with a good picture of Woody looking right in my camera:-) He signed my baseball in between Drew and Kline's autograph..LoL |
