BRIAN NELSON'S Biography

Part 4

From 1992 onwards Brian Nelson started
travelling

a year, to play in the 'Jacobin', Castel Rose,
in the sunny Cévennes and surroundings.
This place was run by it's former owner

Jaco
Hennebert
from Brugge, who once left
Belgium...

- a "retired" football player - to go and live in France
and - being a musician himself, having been very familiar with the music scene - to welcome live music
with open arms.
And besides all that... to send Brian to get him a Takamini guitar as good as his own, to fill his spare moments with...

Back in Flanders, five years after "the four" - Brian, Dirk Van Gansbeke alias
'Skian Dhu' on drums, Dolf Wolf on bass and GT.Moore
(England) on guitar,
mandola, harmonica or tin whistle - got together, a new album is released,
engineered by Kosmos and produced by GT Moore:

'Beautiful Losers'
/ Free Space records / 1995,
an acoustic based cross between rock & folk.

With this band called Beautiful Losers - after the CD - the concerts went
well, although - possibly through lack of professional management - they didn't
make the big posters. At several occasions Brian mentioned he liked playing
at small events: "The atmosphere is better, the people seem more receptive...".
It explains why Nelson kept going back to doing solo gigs throughout his career.
